Julie Culjak – Beginner Jewelry Making
Julie is originally from Great Britain and re-located to Milton-Freewater via Germany, where she had lived for 27 years, in July 2007.   She first experienced making jewelry six years ago while visiting her artist friend, D.J. Topping of Minneapolis, and became hooked on beading.  She ‘played’ around with the craft but didn’t become really serious about beading until she discovered the Suncatcher Studio, an artisans boutique on N. Main Street, where she signed up for several workshops, one of which was Basic Jewelry taught by Geri Honn.  Geri later became her partner in a beading shop, the Three Divas Beads, which opened in April 2008.  She now teachers beginners jewelry at the shop and makes and sells her own jewelry.    Julie is offering a morning session where you will make a bracelet and a pair of earrings covering basic wire wrap, stringing and finishing.

Jo Lowe – Intermediate Charcoal Drawing
Jo, primarily a self taught artist, thought her oil painting lacked foundation and structure. She determined to improve by learning to not only look but also to see.  Basic shape drawing techniques, with pencil or charcoal, and painting with a primary color palette were introduced into her art and her discoveries lead her to teaching in the early 70’s.  She continues to learn with every project.  During this one day session she will demonstrate the importance of using a variety of lines and blending techniques to make a drawing more interesting and contribute to the artistic qualities of the overall drawing.  She will also help you hone your observation skills and bring what you see back to your drawing (or painting).  This session is great for anyone interested in drawing, improving their painting skills or would just enjoy to knock out a quick sketch.
Cost: $65

Time: Afternoon – 10am-5pm (Lunch 1pm-2pm)
